colefax-fowler-tyg-tay
Tay Fabric — Colefax & Fowler

The Tay fabric from Colefax & Fowler is built on a textured surface.

The pattern repeat is 1.0 cm, which makes it a small repeat. The close repeat gives a calm, almost textured surface from a distance. The pattern is a straight match, which makes the fabric easier to make up. Tay is available in 6 colourways — Old Blue, Beige, Blue and Aqua, among others. The colourways differ more than you might expect; choose according to the light in the room.

The pattern belongs to the Brett Weaves - Aut 18 collection.

The fabric is 139 cm wide and woven in a cotton blend. At 25 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it handles upholstery in a home setting with a good margin.

We recommend Tay for living rooms and bedrooms. The look has a closeness to nature, sophisticated restraint and timelessness, with a medium-light overall tone. Suits curtains as well as upholstery — keep the room's other textiles simple.

The palette is dominated by green — medium-light and muted in tone, with a cool undertone. Consider which way the room faces — north light pulls colours cooler than they appear on screen.

Try the fabric on a piece of furniture with our visualisation tool before you decide. Look at it in both daylight and lamplight, as the tones shift between the two.
