The ceiling light carries the room's base lighting and acts as a focal point. Over a dining table, allow 60–70 cm between the tabletop and the lower edge of the fitting.

The fitting comes in 2 finishes — Gild and Aged Iron. Ideally, match it to the other metals in the room. The materials are brass.

The height is 102.9 cm. It weighs 17.2 kg — worth checking against the ceiling fixing before installation. Lead time is 2-8 weeks.

The Desmond lantern is at its best in hallways and living rooms. Choose a warm-white bulb around 2700 K and ideally add a dimmer — the lighting needs to adjust between day and evening.

Visual Comfort & Co. works with invited designers rather than an in-house studio. That is why the range spans everything from restrained neoclassical to overtly decorative — each series carries the signature of its creator.

Lighting is hard to judge from a picture.
