Diamond Pattern Wallpapers

Diamond wallpapers — check patterns set on the diagonal, so that the square becomes a rhombus. One of the oldest ways of dividing up a wall, and one of the most forgiving.

The forgiveness lies in the geometry. A diagonal line draws the eye upwards and outwards at the same time, which makes a small room feel less boxy, and the repeat of the rhombus is regular enough that the eye stops registering it after a while. That is why diamond patterns work in rooms where you spend a lot of time, unlike more narrative patterns.

We carry nine patterns, mainly from Cole & Son — Oblique, Zellige, Punchinello, Bagatelle, Pompeian. Prices sit closely together, between 1 950 and 2 500 kronor per roll. The expressions differ more than the prices: everything from almost invisibly tinted checks to bold, clearly drawn diamond grids.

A tinted diamond grid and a bold one look completely different on a full wall compared with a product image — upload a photo of the room in the visualisation tool before you decide. The closest relative is trellis wallpapers, which build on the same grid but with foliage in it.
