Kelly Wearstler

Kelly Wearstler is counted among the most influential interior designers of our time and has shaped hotels and private homes around the world. Her signature is the meeting of materials: stone against metal, matt against gloss, heavy against light. The combinations are rarely cautious, but they are always considered — these are contrasts that hold together rather than pull apart.

The collaboration with Visual Comfort & Co. began in 2015 and today comprises more than 350 fixtures. The design is described as an exploration of material, colour and form, with deliberate encounters between contemporary and vintage, architectural and organic. The Cleo floor lamp, in bronze, brass and marble, is a clear example: the geometry is strict but the materials carry the expression. The fixtures work as the room's jewellery rather than as neutral light sources.
