G P & J Baker at Brittfurn

We carry 369 fabrics from G P & J Baker. The brothers George Percival and James Baker founded the firm in 1884. The business began with Persian and Turkish carpets and in time became one of the world's largest privately owned textile archives.

The range centres on abstract forms, florals, stripes and geometrics. The filters above sort by colour, pattern and room, so you can go straight to what suits the project.

The collections

G P & J Baker releases its range in collections, and we carry 81 of them — among them Keswick Embroideries, Coromandel Small Prints, Coromandel Velvets, Essential Colours Ii and Portobello. Each collection has its own colour palette, which makes it easier to hold a room together if you stay within one of them.

Things to consider before ordering

For the fabrics, we state the Martindale rating on every product page. It determines what the fabric can withstand: from around 15 000 rubs it works as upholstery; below that, the fabric belongs in curtains and decorative use. Get in touch if you're unsure which quality a project requires.

See the pattern in your room first

Colours behave differently in a room than on a screen. With the visualisation on the product page, you can see the wallpaper in your own room and the fabric on a piece of furniture. You need to be logged in to use it.
