Morris & Co

The heart of the Arts & Crafts movement, in print since 1861.

William Morris founded Morris & Co in 1861 as a reaction against the mass-produced interiors of Victorian industrialism. His vision was to create beautiful, durable objects in which craft and art went hand in hand. Inspiration was drawn directly from nature – every branch, flower, bird and leaf was studied closely and transformed into timeless patterns that remain among the world's most cherished in wallpaper and textiles to this day.

The original archive lives on. Logbooks, fabric samples and the original wood printing blocks are now in the care of Sanderson Design Group, which means Morris & Co can still produce wallpapers and fabrics with the same feel and richness of detail as the originals. Iconic patterns such as Strawberry Thief from 1883, inspired by the thrushes that stole strawberries in William Morris's garden, and Willow Bough from 1887, with its soft willow branches from the banks of the Thames, have become design classics. Beloved patterns such as Daisy, Jasmine and Larkspur are also printed with textures and depth of colour that preserve the feel of the hand-printed original.

At Brittfurn you will find a carefully selected range of Morris wallpapers and Morris fabrics, both in the classic archive colours and in modern, toned-down hues. Whether you are looking for a wallpaper for an entire room, an exclusive upholstery fabric for a Howard sofa or a beautiful curtain fabric that creates a cosy feel, Morris & Co offers timeless design that suits both traditional and modern homes.

To make choosing easy, you can use our smart visualisation tools directly on the site. With our wallpaper visualisation tool you upload a photo of your room and see how the wallpaper will look in your own setting, while also getting help calculating the right number of rolls. With our fabric visualisation tool you can in the same way see how Morris fabrics suit different pieces of furniture before you order. If you would like to experience the collections in person, you are always welcome to our showroom on Östermalm in Stockholm, where you can see wallpapers and fabrics in larger format and receive personal advice before making your choice.

”Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
