Colefax & Fowler Wallpapers

Colefax & Fowler at Brittfurn

We carry 31 wallpapers and 348 fabrics from Colefax & Fowler. Sibyl Colefax started her interior decorating business in the 1930s. John Fowler became a partner in 1938 and gave the firm its name.

The range centres on plain qualities, floral motifs, stripes and textures. The filters above sort by colour, pattern and room, so you can go straight to what suits your project.

The collections

Colefax & Fowler releases its range in collections, and we carry 101 of them — among them Veryan, Millbrook, Amersham, Oberon Sheers - Jan 21 and Appledore. Each collection has its own colour palette, which makes it easier to hold a room together if you stay within one of them.

Things to consider before ordering

Several patterns are available both as wallpaper and as fabric. That opens up the possibility of repeating a motif within a room — but do it in a different scale or colourway, otherwise it becomes too much. Wallpaper on a wall and the same pattern on a cushion in a smaller scale works; the same pattern at the same size on both wall and sofa does not.

For the fabrics, we list the Martindale rating on every product page. It determines what the fabric can withstand: from around 15 000 rubs it works as upholstery, below that the fabric belongs in curtains and decor. Get in touch if you are unsure which quality a project requires.

On the wallpapers, you will find the pattern repeat and roll width under each product. Allow for a little waste when matching the pattern, and order your full requirement at once — the shade can vary slightly between production batches.

See the wallpaper in your room first

Colour and pattern behave differently on a wall or a piece of furniture than in a product image. With the visualiser on the product page, you can see the wallpaper in your own room and the fabric on a piece of furniture; it requires you to be logged in. Also consider both daylight and lamplight, and the particular wall or piece of furniture in question.

The entire range can be seen and touched in the showroom at Sturegatan 20 in Östermalm. We help with quantity calculations and with matching wallpaper to fabric — drop in or get in touch.
