Behind Melange Elongated Wall Light is Kelly Wearstler, designer for Visual Comfort & Co. A wall light lifts the light from floor level and creates shadow and depth. Used in pairs — around a mirror, a painting, a bed — the effect is calmer than overhead lighting.
The fitting is available in 3 finishes — Polished Nickel With Alabaster, Antique Burnished Brass With Alabaster and Bronze With Alabaster. Consider matching it to the other metals in the room. The materials are brass and marble.
The dimensions are 10.8 cm wide and 50.8 cm high. It weighs 4 kg — worth checking against the ceiling mount before installation. Delivery time is 2-8 weeks. The slim width means it takes up little space, an advantage in corridors and around mirrors.
Melange Elongated Wall Light is at its best in the hallway, bedroom and living room. Choose a warm white bulb around 2700 K and ideally connect a dimmer — the lighting needs to adjust between day and evening.
Lighting is hard to judge from a picture. Do visit the showroom at Sturegatan 20 and see the fitting lit.
