The fabric Acer Maple from Jane Churchill's Rivera collection unites classic Eastern pattern tradition with modern British textile design. The elegant pattern draws its inspiration from the designs on antique Japanese kimonos, with stylised clusters of maple leaves spreading across the fabric. The ground is a tactile jacquard weave with softly shaded leaves, creating a fascinating depth in the textile. On top of this ground the exquisite embroidery emerges, worked in a variety of contrasting stitches that give the leaves a lively, three-dimensional texture.
