With the Hooker Furniture Academia upholstered dining chair, the living room or hallway gains a dining chair that balances a clear design identity with everyday practicality. The frame is made of rubberwood and upholstered in fabric, giving the surface both depth and tactile presence. The upholstery is generously shaped for long dinners and slow afternoons. The size is well judged enough to work in smaller apartments and larger homes alike. The look is timeless — as much at home in a newly renovated turn-of-the-century apartment as in a modern villa. The Academia series takes its inspiration from the classic library — darker tones, stricter lines and a certain intellectual weight. Think about the lighting: a warm pendant or floor lamp brings out both material and silhouette. Hooker Furnishings rests on more than a hundred years of American furniture craftsmanship, and it shows in how this piece is built — solid, considered and with an eye for the small things. Slight variations in the materials are natural and add to the piece's individual character. It holds together visually even as the style around it changes over time — a safe choice when a home is meant to evolve in stages.
