Ira from the Jane Churchill brand is an expressive and characterful textile design from the versatile Tarka collection. The design shows clear influences from traditional kilim weaves and older textile craft traditions, with geometric stepped forms creating a rhythmic, harmonious structure across the entire surface of the fabric. By skilfully combining full chenille with textured yarn, it achieves a unique visual depth that gives the textile both an interesting character and a wonderful tactile quality. The fabric feels genuinely robust and hard-wearing to the touch, while retaining a surprisingly soft, inviting and supple feel.

The graphic design of the geometric pattern makes Ira a considered choice for upholstery where you want to bring both dynamism and architectural solidity to the room without overwhelming the overall impression. Used as a curtain, the textile hangs with a heavy, elegant drape and adds a sophisticated, modern edge to classic settings and contemporary homes alike. The carefully composed colourways make it easy to harmonise the fabric with other textiles, upholstered furniture and woods in the room, creating a balanced and cohesive result.
