With a diamond pattern, Marcel sits firmly within the Colefax & Fowler design language.

The pattern repeat is 10.0 cm, which makes it a small repeat. The small scale makes the pattern discreet enough to carry an entire room. The pattern is a straight match, which simplifies making up. Marcel comes in 7 colourways — Blue, Red, Old Blue, Green and more. The difference between them is greater than you might think — the same pattern can create a subdued room or a bright one.

Marcel is part of Roscoe - Aut 21 from Colefax & Fowler.

The fabric is 139 cm wide and woven in a cotton blend. At 45 000 rubs on the Martindale scale, it withstands domestic upholstery with a good margin.

The pattern works particularly well in living rooms and bedrooms. The look has a classic poise, elegance and sophisticated restraint, with a dark overall tone. Large-scale motifs show to best advantage on curtains and larger surfaces, less so on cushions and details.
