Darwinista from the Italian textile house Dedar in Milan is a jacquard-woven velvet that unites a dramatic sense of style with sublime tactility. The pattern forms a dreamlike landscape in which lithe tigers, monkeys and exotic birds emerge through a graphic play of lines. The inspiration comes from Art Deco and the mysterious jungle motifs of the artist Henri Rousseau, giving the fabric a unique balance between figurative poetry and strict geometry. The softness of the cut velvet surface meets a glimmering metallic ground, creating a relief-like depth in which the light constantly changes the fabric's expression in the room.

This versatile upholstery fabric is excellent for fully upholstered armchairs as well as smaller interior details such as scatter cushions or drapes. Its compact yet supple quality gives an enveloping feel and a sophisticated drape. Thanks to the rich colour palette, Darwinista can easily be integrated into both classic settings and more contemporary interiors, where it works as a characterful focal point. Covering a chair or sofa in this weave adds a layer of intellectual elegance and historical reference, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere with a subtle sense of timeless luxury.
