The Hooker Furniture Academia media console is a media console in which form, material and proportion work together in a way that reveals itself over time. The frame is made of oak veneer and rubberwood, giving the surface both depth and a tactile presence. Warm wood tones bring an inviting feel that works all year round. Details in the grain and surface only reveal themselves on closer inspection — a quiet reminder of the quality. The proportions are considered enough to work in smaller flats and larger homes alike. The Academia series takes its inspiration from the classic library — darker tones, stricter lines and a certain intellectual weight. Let the piece stand on its own against a calm backdrop — a linen wallpaper, a neutral rug or a limewashed wall works beautifully. Hooker Furnishings draws on more than a hundred years of American furniture craftsmanship, and it shows in how this piece is built — solidly, thoughtfully and with an eye for the small things. Slight variations in the material are natural and add to the piece’s individual character.
