Pimpernel was drawn by William Morris in 1876 and registered as a design in February the same year, and here the design meets a modern format: double width for seamless curtain drops.

At 304 cm wide, the fabric is used railroaded — the drop is seamless whatever the width of the window. That gives a cleaner drape and less waste than joined drops.

The pattern repeat is 38 cm — a medium-sized repeat. The colourways are Light Blue/Coral, Sage/Caramel and Soft Pink — feel free to take home samples of all of them; the same design comes across differently in different light.

Simply Wide Width, the collection this pattern belongs to, is Morris & Co's answer to a practical question: how do you get the house's classic designs into curtain drops without a join? The range includes dense weaves as well as transparent sheers.

The fabric is woven in 100% cotton and is recommended for curtains and cushions, where the design can hang freely.
