The Shagreen Console Table with Drawers is a console table that captures Jonathan Charles's signature style: antique-inspired, handbuilt and made to be passed down through generations. It belongs to the JC Modern - Metropolitan collection, which is firmly rooted in urban sophistication with clean lines. Here dark woods and brass come together in a design inspired by city life, and the Shagreen Console Table with Drawers carries that whole aesthetic forward in its own characterful interpretation. Every Jonathan Charles piece passes through the hands of specialist craftsmen — the joiner, the cabinetmaker, the marquetry artisan and the master finisher — before it is ready to leave the workshop. At home, the Shagreen Console Table with Drawers works as an elegant link between rooms in the hallway, behind the sofa or along a long wall. The proportions are carefully judged so that the piece holds its own without taking over — exactly the balance Jonathan Charles is known for. Styling tip: Place the table along a long wall and let it act as a still life as you move through the room. A choice that rewards a careful eye — the longer you live with the piece, the more you discover.
