Cole & Son

Cole & Son at Brittfurn

We carry 223 wallpapers and 10 fabrics from Cole & Son. John Perry founded the company in 1875 in Islington, and built up one of Europe's largest collections of wooden printing blocks.

The range leans towards florals, figurative designs, nature motifs and geometrics. The filters above sort by colour, pattern and room, so you can go straight to what suits your project.

The collections

Cole & Son releases its range in collections, and we carry 22 of them — among them The Contemporary Collection, The Ardmore Collection, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Whimsical and Folie. Each collection has its own colour palette, which makes it easier to keep a room cohesive if you stay within one of them.

Before you order

Several patterns are available as both wallpaper and fabric. That opens up the option of repeating a motif within a room — but do it in a different scale or colourway, otherwise it becomes too much. Wallpaper on one wall and the same pattern as a cushion in a smaller scale works; the same pattern in the same size on both the wall and the sofa does not.

For the fabrics, we state the Martindale rating on every product page. It tells you what the fabric can withstand: from around 15 000 rubs it works as upholstery; below that, the fabric belongs in curtains and decorative use. Get in touch if you are unsure which quality a project calls for.

For the wallpapers, you will find the pattern repeat and roll width under each product. Allow for some wastage when pattern matching, and order everything you need in one go — the shade can vary slightly between production batches.

See the pattern in your room first

Colours behave differently in a room than on a screen. With the visualisation on the product page, you can see the wallpaper in your own room and the fabric on a piece of furniture — it requires you to be logged in. Bear in mind that colour shifts between daylight and lamplight, and ideally start from the wall or piece of furniture in question.

The full range is there to see and touch in the showroom at Sturegatan 20 in Östermalm. We help with quantity calculations and with matching wallpaper to fabric — drop in or get in touch.
